Manu Reserved Zone Tours / Cusco Manu National Park Tour

Our seven days Manu Reserved Zone Tour from Cusco offers a deeper insight into life in the pristine areas of the lush Amazon Rainforest. Popularly known as Cusco Manu National Park Tour or Parque Manu Peru Tour the tour primarily takes place at Manu biosphere reserve.

In 1987, Manu National Park got its recognition as a UNESCO World Heritage site. This is a popular destination in the Peruvian Amazon due to its close proximity to Cusco and also because it is home to many amazon wildlife.

Manu National Park is one of the major conservation units in the world. It is also the largest tropical jungle in the Americas. Manu preserves a complete virgin watershed that constitutes a tropical lowland forest at some 300 meters.

Manu is also home to the elfin and cloud forest on the eastern slope of the Andes that reaches up to the grasslands in Pauna at 4000 meters above sea level.

Our seven days Cusco Manu National Park Tour offers a deeper insight into wildlife conservation and Amazonian traditions.

About Manu Reserved Zone

In 1973, Manu National Park was established as a Natural Protected Area. Later, in 1977, UNESCO designated Manu National Park as a Biosphere Reserve, in addition to the territories destined for colonization that bordered the Park and the Manu Reserved Zone. Ten years after its recognition as such, Manu National Park has declared a Natural World Heritage Site because of its extraordinary universal value. This designation was a recognition by UNESCO of its World Heritage Convention program, whose purpose is to catalog, preserve and publicize sites of outstanding cultural or natural importance to the common heritage of mankind.

Manu National Park, located in the departments of Cusco and Madre de Dios, protects one of the most important ecoregions of the country and an area of megadiversity; it is perhaps the most biologically diverse park on the planet. It is one of the few territorial spaces that include from frigid punas, which exceed 4000 meters above sea level, rugged forested mountains that give rise to a multitude of small streams and valleys, to cloud forests of high jungle to finally reach the Amazonian plain.
