During this tour to Manu National Park from Cusco, you will access the cultural zone of the park. Manu has been declared a World Biosphere Reserve and is a true natural paradise that is home to a great biological diversity. We will visit different ecosystems such as the Andean, high Andean, tropical and subtropical, experiencing 4 days of nature from the inside in a unique experience that you will always remember.
This trip is rated as easy. Participants should enjoy short walks on trails full of moisture, mud, and heat, in the wild jungles of South America. In many of the circuits that our guides will take you are close to the lodge, there will be days when we will have to do our walks with some rain. Weather conditions and remote locations are combined physical stress that can make this activity a bit more challenging than it normally would be.
Be prepared to face large rivers, in small motorboats, and taste unique food from the region. Usually, you do not need to be a tourist with experience in hiking, since the attraction is approximately 500 meters above sea level. The terrain is not very steep. The probability of seeing wildlife is very varied since there are days when we will have more chances, than others; Remember that this tour goes to a wild place where animals are not in the same location. The best recommendation is to have a lot of patience and teamwork with the route guide.
We take an 10-hour private bus trip from the city of Cusco ascending to the high mountain area at 4000 m (13,000 feet).
After a short stop in Ninamarca, to see the pre-Inca cemetery, and Paucartambo village, we descend the eastern slopes of the Andes through cloud forest with lush vegetation (ferns, orchids, bromeliads, etc.) to the lowland rainforest on the Madre de Dios River. You will enjoy spectacular views of the Andes and may see wildlife such as our national bird, the Cock of the Rocks (Rupicola peruviana) inside a hiding place next to the lek, brilliantly colored Tanagers and Hummingbirds and with some luck the first monkeys, as e.g. the Wooly Monkey. We spend the night in a lodge in or in Pilcopata in Lodge ( 600 m)
Lodge private bathroom with hot water.
After breakfast we walk along the road increasing with our list of flora and fauna. We continue 1 hour by bus to Atalaya, stopping on the way to visit our local project of Orchids,at Atalaya port we embark on a half hour journey in a 15-meter motorized canoe down the Alto Madre de Dios River.
We have the opportunity to see wildlife along the rocky banks of the river, such as Fasciated Tiger Herons, Purplish Jays, Skimmers, Vultures and some of the 13 species of monkeys that live in Manu. In the afternoon we walk on the trails around the lodge and visit Machuwasi lake / oxbow lake. Optional night walk to look for caimans at the river. We spend the night at Soga de Oro Lodge, private bathroom and hot water.
Very early in the morning we travel by boat to see the parrot clay lick. This is a special place where parrots, parakeets and small macaws (Chestnut fronted Macaw and the rare Blue headed Macaw) go to eat minerals which help them with digestion.
After the natural show we walk on the trails and climb up to a lookout from where we have a view over the Alto Madre de Dios River. We can go fishing or have a bath in the river. The night is spent at the lodge. Optional night walk (to see insects, frogs, snakes etc.).
After breakfast we take the boat back to Atalaya. Here our bus is waiting for us for our return trip through the cloud forest and over the Andes back to Cusco. We can stop whenever we spot animals. We arrive around 6 pm, transfer to your hotel.

rosa2026-05-13Verificada I will definitly go back Highly Recommended!!! It was a difficult choice to travel to Manu for 7 days and 6 nights with my friends, but we searched and found Inkamazonia to be the most reliable company with nature conservation projects, which motivated us even more to travel with them. The entire transportation service was excellent, as was the food, which was phenomenal thanks to our chef, Alex, who prepared the best meals. Our guide, Lincoln, the owner of the company, kept us informed at all times about everything we saw, such as insects, frogs, birds, and mammals. He was born in the Manu rainforest and knew everything perfectly, and he was also very entertaining throughout the trip. We will return to visit another natural gem that was mentioned to us, and we will definitely travel with Inkamazonia again. David S2026-05-12Verificada Manu 5D/4N I took the 5-day, 4-night Manu tour with Inkamazonia and I chose the best option for this tour. Jhaila was our cook who made amazing food, everything we needed. Our driver, Abner, was fantastic; he knew the route very well. Our guide, Lincoln, was incredibly knowledgeable about the flora and fauna, had the eyes of an eagle for spotting birds, animals, and insects, and was especially cheerful. And what can I say about our guide, Lincoln? He was an expert on Manu. The accommodations at the lodge were fantastic, and the food was extraordinary. Jhaila has a magical touch; her cooking is delicious. I highly recommend traveling with Inkamazonia. Cecilia L2026-04-30Verificada ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ Great way to see the Amazon! What an excellent experience! My friend and I completed the 4D 3N tapiri lodge stay. The transport from our initial accomodation in Manaus out to the lodge was seamless. Our guide Lincoln was friendly, professional and knowledgable. For two young women we felt very safe. All the people that work to make the expedition happen were very accomodating. The food provided was great as well! We were able to see such rich wildlife from birds to sloths and caymans. There was a nice stretch of downtime at the hottest part of the day and then out for a different activity on the boat. It was a great adventure, I would recommend this trip with friends or family. I would definitely return to do wiTh INKAMAZONIA. 迪 武2026-04-29Verificada Don't miss the birdwatching trip with Lincoln My two days birdwatching with Lincol were definitely the most memorable experience of my time in Peru. The harpy eagle is one of the bird species I most wanted to see during my birdwatching journey. Lincol knew its condition very well. The trip wasn't easy; we had to cross about 10 streams, but Lincol always provided encouragement. When you finally see the eagle, it's all worth it. Lincol's garden was another unmissable surprise. Koepcke's Hermit, White-bearded Hermit, Buff-tailed Sicklebill, Rufous-crested Coquette… all sorts of rare hummingbirds regularly visit. There's even a resident king vulture! A close encounter of about 10 meters was truly unbelievable. But what I really want to say is that Lincol is a very user-centric and considerate person. Knowing I was a solo traveler on a limited budget, he offered a more cost-effective birdwatching plan and even arranged excellent value accommodations and meals. This made the whole trip perfect. I'm very happy to have become friends with Lincoln, and I sincerely recommend him to all birdwatching enthusiasts. elora a2026-03-14Verificada Génial Licolne nous a acceptés tout de suite pour faire du volontariat à l'observatoire. I had the opportunity to take a 4-day tour in this wonderful place, and the experience was simply unforgettable. From the very first moment, the connection with nature made each day special: breathtaking landscapes, fresh air, and a tranquility that truly rejuvenates the soul. The food was excellent, varied, and prepared with great care, making each meal an important part of the experience. Furthermore, the staff were incredibly kind, always willing to help and make everyone feel at home. The place is very comfortable, clean, and welcoming, perfect for relaxing after each day of adventure. Without a doubt, it's a destination I highly recommend for those looking to disconnect, enjoy nature, and have an authentic experience. Curiosity518380165282025-11-17Verificada A lot of wildlife spotting! Excellent guide! Wonderful accomodations and food! The excursion was wonderful straight from the beginning. We were picked up from our hostel in Cusco and then started the ride down to the jungle. On the way down we spotted many types of birds and monkeys, Lincol our guide was excellent, he found, showed and explained to us about the wildlife enthusiasticly. Without him our tour would totally be lacking, he enhanced our experience tremendously. Americo our driver was the best and Flor our chef made delicious and plenty of food. We are vegan and they completely accommodated us. The lodges we stayed at were wonderful emersing us in the jungle experience but at the same time providing clean showers and beds to rest at the end of the day. The itinerary was interesting and entertaining, taking us to beautiful places and seeing a lot of wildlife. Over a hundred different species! This trip was our best experience in Peru! We loved it!
